Controversial ‘Squid Game’ Reality Show Drops First Trailer

If you had asked people 30 years ago if we would have a TV show to watch people suffer, they would think you are crazy. Forward thirty years and it looks like it will happen. The controversial ‘Squid Game’ reality show has dropped its first trailer.

Netflix has dropped the first trailer for ‘Squid Game: The Challenge.’ The high-stakes reality competition series is based on the show, complete with identical tracksuits, stacked bunk beds, and the “Red Light, Green Light” doll.

Movieweb says ‘The Challenge’ will include 456 players and a $4.56 million reward, the largest sum in reality TV history.

In the trailer, one contestant says, “This is a savage game.” Former contestants from the show said in an interview the game was filled with “torment and trauma…It was just the cruelest, meanest thing I’ve ever been through.”

So we are here. Everybody gathers around the TV and watches people get hurt. It just keeps getting worse.

Netflix is celebrating its 25th anniversary today (August 29). Originally starting out in 1997 as a DVD rental service via mail, offering members unlimited DVD rentals without due dates, late fees, or monthly rental limits.
