Tesla Is Hiring People With A Unique Skill
If you’d like to make some pretty good money, Tesla is hiring people with a unique skill. Tesla is hiring people to do robot moves.
The Job
Ever dream of getting paid to move like a robot? Tesla is looking to hire you. The EV maker has posted a job listing for ‘Data Collection Operator’. The gig? Wearing a motion capture suit and mimicking actions to train ‘Optimus’, its humanoid robot. The Verge says Motion capture is a common and typically cost-effective way to train robots to perform human-like movements, but Tesla is one of the first to do so at this scale.
The Requirements
Candidates must be able to “walk 7+ hours a day while carrying up to 30 lb” and wear a motion capture suit and VR headset for “extended periods of time”. They must also be between 5’7″ and 5’11” in height to properly fit the suit.
How Much Will You Make?
It pays up to $48 an hour plus full-time benefits. Sounds like some decent money, but the physical demands will rule out a lot of people. I think I’ll just stick to trying to do the “Robot” on the dance floor.
