What Keith Asks For
The country heavyweight doesn’t ask for much. While most musicians have a show rider a mile long, Keith Urban’s ego only requires a few things. “I don’t have any of that, like, you know what I mean?” he says. “The rider and the whole thing. I’m pretty low-key, I don’t need much.” “If I can get water in a glass — like glass bottle instead of plastic — it just tastes better and probably a bit healthier, that’s about it,” he finally decides. Keith also told Taste of Country, “My band,” Urban jokes when asked what he needs backstage at every show. “It’s good if they’re there, so I can walk out and play with some music.”

Working for over 25 years in Country radio, I have had many experiences with Keith. They all have been an absolute pleasure. He is a very humble and kind man. Keith always makes himself available to radio people. So it’s no surprise that he asks for just simple things backstage. Always the gentleman.
