Miller Lite Takes Christmas To The Next Level
Brand loyalty is a curious thing to me. Honestly, we all have it in some way or another. I have friends that would just as soon take up another sport if they could not play Titleist golf balls. I know women who would be willing to literally go to war if the prospect of having Duke’s Mayonnaise taken from their grocery shelves. And don’t get me started on the rabid fandom of “Sun Drop” people. They are a crazy lot for sure! <g> However, one of my favorite brand loyalties is in the world of beer. My best friend is a Miller Lite guy. That’s it, that’s the list. I have literally been with him in a restaurant where he’s ordered a Miller Lite only to be told, “We’re out.” His response? “Well, then I’ll have a sweet tea.” WTH?! Light beer is pretty much light beer, right? Wrong. Anyway, Christmas is almost here. And this year, I’m not going to have to look far to come up with the perfect gift for him. If you have someone on your list that sounds similar, check this out.
As part of its holiday collection, Miller Lite will be releasing a limited-edition Christmas Tree Keg Stand “perfect for keeping your tree fresh and beer cold,” according to the company’s news release. The “fully functioning” tree stand is designed to fit around a slim quarter-barrel keg that holds 83 12-ounce beers. The stand is compatible with a tree that’s up to 5 feet tall and weighs up to 150 pounds with lights and ornaments. The Christmas Tree Keg Stand costs $49.99. The tree and the Miller Lite keg are not included. Okay, admittedly this may be a little to over-the-top. And, you may have trouble with others in the house being moved by this much holiday spirit (pun intended). In that case, how about this simple, classic, drinkable adornment.
Debuting last year, but back by popular demand, are Miller Lite’s “beernaments,” which are ornaments that fit around an 8-ounce can of Miller Lite. This begs the obvious question. What do you do with the other four ounces? <g>
