One North Carolina Town Makes The List of Most Underrated To Retire In America

Don’t we all hope to get there one day.  I am talking about a healthy happy retirement one fine day.  One North Carolina town makes the list of the most underrated places to retire in America.

One of my favorite websites called Cheapism, has compiled a list of the most underrated towns to retire.  They keep things in mind like median home prices, health costs and access to entertainment.  So which town in North Carolina fits the requirements?  Greenville, North Carolina!! They also say the East Carolina students keep the old folks young.

North Carolina Cities Rank Among 'Best Places To Live In The U.S.'

Money magazine has just come out with their annual list of the 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S. They looked at towns and cities with a population of at least 20,000, weighing them on criteria such as cost of living, economic opportunity, and diversity.

The Southeast is well represented in the ranking for 2022-2023. Topping the list is Atlanta, Georgia, which gets high marks for the many opportunities it offers job seekers, students and families, plus housing prices are relatively reasonable. The current median price for a home in Atlanta is $428,000, which is $7,000 less than the U.S. average of $435,000.

Three cities in the Carolinas are also on the list. Raleigh is ranked as the fourth best place to live in the nation. Chapel Hill, North Carolina sits at #12 and Greenville, South Carolina landed at #46. You can see the full list HERE.
