Viral Video Shows Massive Alligator At Popular South Carolina Resort

I remember seeing alligators occasionally at the beach resort we went to as a kid. But they were always just in the pond, and that’s the way I like it. I always say I like animals I’m expecting to see, I don’t like animals I’m not expecting to see. And this, this is the perfect example of that. A TikTok video posted from Kiawah Island shows a huge alligator just crossing the street in front of the filmer. And when I say huge, I mean massive. This alligator that was seen at the popular South Carolina resort, is one of the largest I can recall seeing. Though I’m not an expert. The video has reached up over 170,000 views with 140 people choosing to comment on it.
One commenter said the gator’s name is Charlie and that he frequents the ponds on Kiawah. Another user mentioned that Kiawah is home to many gators. Good to know, good to know. Kiawah Island is a resort barrier island in the vicinity of Charleston, SC. And while yes, I know/expect the occasional alligator at any South Carolina beach, this video, just startles me. What do they tell you as a kid, if you’re being chased by a gator run in a zig-zag pattern?

My wife and I are beach people. We just got back from the beach and we’re already looking forward to our next beach trip. If your summer plans include a beach vacation, this list might help you pick a really good one.
Scientist Stephen Leatherman, also known as “Dr. Beach,” has released his 2022 list of the top U.S. beaches. Dr. Leatherman is a professor and director of the Laboratory for Coastal Research at Florida International University. He has been ranking America’s best beaches since 1991.
According to CNN, Leatherman uses 50 criteria in evaluating 650 public beaches. He examines sand softness, water temperature and clarity, beach width, and even wildlife. A few beaches in the Carolinas, including this year’s top pick, check off a lot of boxes.
