Prepare to get wet. Tropical storm Debby could bring 3 times more rain into Charlotte than originally predicted. I was just talking to my sister Linda who owns a home at Sunset Beach, North Carolina. Turns out we will be getting lots of rain here too. More than we thought.
Debby Could Bring 3 Times More Rain Into Charlotte
According to our source, the Charlotte Observer, Debby is expected to bring thrice more rain into Charlotte than originally fore casted. 6 to 8 inches of rain is expected through Friday in Charlotte. If you live in Lake Norman,Concord, Monroe, and Rock Hill you can expect about the same according to the National Weather Service. If you live in Gastonia, Lincolnton or other communities west of Charlotte you can expect a little less rain.
The Latest Prediction
On Monday most weather people were predicted 2-4 inches of precipitation from Tropical Storm Debby. Now National Weather Service maps say much more rain into Charlotte is expected. As reported in the Charlotte Observer, The National Hurricane service had this to say, At 5 a.m. Wednesday, “Debby was loitering off the South Carolina coast” about 65 miles southeast of Charleston.
It looks like Thursday and Friday are going to be our heaviest rain days. The National Weather Service has already issued a flood watch for Mecklenburg, Iredell, Rowan and Union counties in North Carolina. A Flood Watch has also been issued for York and Chester counties in South Carolina. Weather experts don’t know exactly yet when the deluge will start. But right now they expect downpours all day Thursday, Thursday night and Friday.
