What the what? If you’re like me you’re in disbelief that the Van Gogh exhibit is coming to Charlotte North Carolina in Camp North End. Presently they’re working on dates and prices, and soon as they announce I’ll repost. Of course, this wouldn’t have happened unless the collaboration with Blumenthal Performing Arts, at Camp North End. And, they chose the perfect backdrop for this exbibit in Camp North End because of the cool-looking warehouses encompassing 500,000 cubic feet of projections that will animate Vincent van Gogh’s work.
Although Van Gogh’s work was from way back when but seems to be well suited for an immersive multimedia experience. There are actually at least four other touring immersive Van Gogh experiences that included: Imagine Van Gogh: The Immersive Exhibition, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience
Beyond Van Gogh: An Immersive Experience, and Van Gogh Alive. You can actually sign up here to get updates on prices and the big reveal, here. In the meantime, if you’re looking for more events to attend, check out Charlotte On The Cheap.
Some people have described the experience as being inside a Van Gogh painting, and I’m ready to trip out while visiting. Here are some details: The exhibit is being produced by Lighthouse Immersive and the installation will include the Pommes de Terre (The Potato Eaters, 1885), the Nuit étoilée (Starry Night, 1889), Les Tournesols (Sunflowers, 1888), and La Chambre à coucher (The Bedroom, 1889), and so a bunch of other surprises.
