South Carolina City Makes List Of Most Affordable U.S. Beach Property
A lot of us probably dream of owning a beach home. However, that purchase is usually not in our budget. But, one South Carolina city made the list of most affordable in the U.S. to buy a beach home. Travel + Leisure reports that according to a survey by Realtor.com, Myrtle Beach checks off the boxes if you’re interested in exploring that purchase. Our favorite weekend and summer getaway landed at number 5 on the list. The survey touts the weather, taxes and home prices as attractive to future residents. Of course, we know how nice visits to Myrtle Beach can be. Our friends own property there, and our son attends school nearby. So, we often look at Myrtle Beach as our second home. The popular tourist destination holds many beloved memories and a special place in our hearts. And, the report points out that median prices for homes in the area were around $390,000 in Spring of 2022.
And, many students attending Coastal Carolina University alongside our son come from cities to the Northeast. They seem to adore the weather which gives them a bit more sun and warmth than what they experience back home. In fact, I hear many of the parents indicate they plan to look into buying second homes in and around Myrtle Beach. The stats seem to reflect that, as well. Also, I know from experience that the number of golf courses plays into attracting visitors and potential residents alike. Realtors further point out that condos rank among the most popular choice. Our friends’ condo community has a pool and clubhouse, making it convenient when you prefer pool days to the beach. And, these properties tend to be affordable. Check here for the full list. But, it’s no surprise this South Carolina city makes this list.
10 Best Resorts In South Carolina For Your 2023 Vacation
Craving the perfect weekend getaway? I just got back from vacation but what I wouldn’t give for another relaxing weekend. And lucky for us, some of the best resorts around are right down the road in South Carolina. Travel & Leisure recently ranked their Top 10 South Carolina Resort Hotels. All ten of these are the epitome of luxury and relaxation. The list was based on reader votes in the publication’s World’s Best Awards. The hotels were rated on facilities, location, service, food, and overall value. South Carolina has miles of coastline so it’s no surprise that the vast majority of hotels included are waterfront. Nine of ten are located on the water to be exact.
Hilton Head was the leader with four of the ten hotels located on the island. Other locations represented include Kiawah and Bluffton. Whether you are traveling with the family or just a relaxing adults-only getaway you’ll be sure to enjoy these resorts. They feature all the amenities you could hope for with golf, spas, beaches, restaurants, and more. All of these reasons keep visitors coming back year after year to enjoy the South Carolina Lowcountry.
There are so many spots I’d love to travel to, though looking at photos of these gorgeous resorts may have catapulted several of them to the top of my list. Have you stayed at any of them? Which is your favorite?
