Fan Favorite Square Donut Shop Reopens With New Owners In North Carolina Shopping Center
Who among us doesn’t love a delicious donut? And, when there’s a unique twist to the donut it’s even more interesting. I think the recent news of Your Mom’s Donuts closing bummed out a lot of people. But, we soon learned Your Mom’s Donuts planned to reopen with new owners.
Courtney Ahern, longtime owner of the popular square donut shop, let fans know early this year the shop was closing permanently. However, The Charlotte Observer reported new owners were taking over, and Charlotte area residents would soon be able to indulge in the sweet treats once again. Plus, Matthews Community Farmers’ Market offers Your Mom’s Donuts available to-go.
The Observer previously reported the Matthews dining room planned an opening after undergoing renovations. Now, AXIOS Charlotte indicates Your Mom’s Donuts reopened in the familiar Park Road Shopping Center location. The 4205 Park Road spot is open from 8 a.m. to noon Wednesday through Sunday or until sold out.
Former owner of Your Mom’s Donuts, Courtney Ahern, posted on Instagram early this year about the process. She indicated that after announcing the closing in February, she received lots of support and interest in the shop. But, she points to one family in particular that she felt comfortable turning over the shop to. In her post, she introduced Dustin and Colleen with their children Hazel and Logan. Courtney pointed out that she is happy for all the support she got from the community while recognizing her dream for the past 10 years.
Of course, Your Mom’s Donuts is also available at Davidson Farmer’s Market. For more information on hours and locations including Matthews and the Farmer’s Market see the full updated story on AXIOS about Your Mom’s Donuts reopening. But, further good news is that reportedly the new ownership kept the staff in tact at Your Mom’s Donuts!
