Many parents just like us remember the “LEGO phase” their children went through. Our son absolutely loved them. And, honestly even at 21 he still dabbles in brick building in rare moments of free time. Although, he is away at college. So, he’ll miss this event. But, just reading about it and looking at pictures causes me to remember that time of life fondly. Anyway, according to Only In Your State, a massive LEGO festival is coming to Charlotte, North Carolina.
Brick Fest Live, a traveling convention, is set to take place August 19 and 20 at the Park Expo & Conference Center in Charlotte. And, attendees are sure to enjoy the interactive family event. So, what’s involved? LEGO fans get to see incredible displays, competitions and even do some shopping. Plus, the event often bring celebrity guests.
Oh, how I will never forget those unexpected painful moments of accidentally stepping on one of the brightly colored bricks in the dark. That definitely wakes you up on the way to the bathroom. But, I also remember all the cherished moments building the sets together. And, our son spent hours with myself, his dad and even grandparents tackling project after project. Of course, I wouldn’t trade those times for anything. And, yes, we kept quite a few of his creations.
However, being the LEGO enthusiast he was, our son often tore them apart and used bricks to build his own designs without a road map. I was sure he’d be an architect. LOL. So, the massive LEGO festival coming to Charlotte holds a sentimental place in my heart. And, I hear Brick Fest Live almost always sells out. So, if you have any interest in attending you might want to check on tickets quickly. Read the full story here ,enjoy, and watch your step!
Examples of LEGO moments with our son through the years. He had a LEGO cake for his birthday. And, after receiving LEGO sets for Christmas, he assembled them with the help of his dad and grandfather.
