Adam Sandler Congratulates Real Life ‘Happy Gilmore’ On Golf Scholorship

The fictional “Happy Gilmore” has publicly congratulated the real “Happy Gilmore.” On Friday, Indiana high school golfer London James Gilmore announced on Twitter that he would be continuing his golf career and education at Ball State University. London earned the nickname “Happy” as junior golfer hitting the golf ball prodigious distances. He even won a long drive contest at age 9. I love that he leans into the nickname-even entering tournaments under that moniker.
As a golfer, I have two different lists of “Favorite Golf Movies.” For Drama, it’s “The Legend of Bagger Vance” and “The Greatest Game Ever Played.” The comedy list? At the top for me is “Tin Cup.” Love it. Of course, everyone loves “Caddyshack.” However, one that’s gotta be at or near the top of any list like this, is Adam Sandler’s “Happy Gilmore.”
Now it’s one thing to have the last name of Gilmore and play golf. It’s another to live up to and embrace the nickname, “Happy.” It’s still another to announce your collegiate golf career AND GET QUOTE TWEETED BY ADAM “HAPPY GILMORE” SANDLER!!!
“Go get em Happy. Pulling for you.” How great is that?! I’ve got to think that this is just as big a deal if not more for London James “Happy” Gilmore to be publicly congratulated by “Happy Gilmore” as earning the golf scholarship!

Best Myrtle Beach Golf Courses For Your Buddies Trip

For the last 8-9 years, my best friend and I have been taking the last week of February and heading down to Myrtle Beach for a huge golf week. My definition of huge? This year we were gone 8 days and played 216 holes of golf at that time. Myrtle Beach, to me, is the golf capital of America, and perfect for that “escape the cold weather/buddies golf trip.”
Nowhere else in the country has a population of greater golf courses over such a relatively small area. Everyone has their favorites, but here is my list of 10 in no particular order.
Note, my friend has a condo down there and so worrying about where to sleep has never been an issue. Consequently, this list is based just off my thoughts about the golfing experience only. Accommodations, dining, etc. I leave to others.
