Pop Up Bar With A Halloween Theme Opens In Busy North Carolina City
It’s the time of year we look for seasonal activities to join in with friends. And, good news on that front as a pop up bar with a Halloween theme opens this week in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. Morehead’s Haunted Tavern pop up bar and haunted house starts October 5 at 300 East Morehead Street.
And, according to WSOC, it comes from the same folks behind Morehead Tavern’s Jingle City Christmas exhibit. So, here’s what to expect. Morehead’s Haunted Tavern pop up bar features spooky cocktails and apps, “scare zones” and live DJs weekends through October 31.
Plus, if you feel adventurous, Morehead’s Haunted Tavern offers a haunted house with all you expect. Of course, that includes spooky characters, spiderwebs, gravestones, ghoulish grandma, hands coming out of walls, the whole nine yards. The dates for the pop up are Thursday through Saturday during October and Halloween. And, while the bar is obviously 21 up, the haunted house welcomes all ages with kids under 17 accompanied by adult. However, keep in mind after 8 p.m. the tavern shifts to a more “mature” atmosphere.
Plus, there’s a way to give back as well. Proceeds of ticket sales help out Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas. And, feel free to bring items for donation. There’s nothing I love more than a good haunted house this time of year. And, include a spooky cocktail I’m all in. So, I’ll definitely be checking it out!
Leftover Halloween Candy-What To Do With It
Leftover Halloween candy…what to do with it. You can certainly freeze chocolate treats to use at Thanksgiving or Christmas. But, there has to be a creative way to “upcycle” it for future uses. Despite all the trick-or-treating, Halloween is just one of the holidays we spend the most on seasonal chocolate. Also near the top is Easter. However, the day of the year with the most over all candy sales is October 28. And, the top 5 candy selling days are in October. And, according to stats I found, candy corn is a top seller. It’s hard to believe since I hear a lot of candy corn bashing. Maybe people buy it to use decoratively or to give to people as a gag gift. Regardless, I am one of the few who actually like candy corn. I said what I said. LOL. Other top sellers include Reese’s, Snickers, Kit Kat and M&M’s. I didn’t see Twix on that list. But I’ll go out on a limb it’s a big seller, too. That being said, it’s certain we end up with buckets of leftover Halloween candy, and here’s what to do with it after the big day. I did some digging and found countless sources for ideas. Any number of social media platforms or websites offer creative ways to give your Halloween candy new life. This list comes from a combo of different places, including my own head. But, to save you the time of searching, I am highlighting a few of those and adding how-to videos as well. And, maybe some of these will spark your imagination to come up with some of your own!
