North Carolina Man Wins 2 Million Dollars After Buying Flashy New Purple Scratch Off

If you are like me, you are kind of a novice when it comes to buying scratch off tickets. I never know which one to choose.  I usually just go with the one that catches my eye.  That strategy worked for this Tar Heel resident. A North Carolina man wins 2 million dollars after buying a flashy new purple scratch off ticket.

According to archyde.com, Thomas Garcia from Lenoir just won 2 million after purchasing a purple $20 dollar Powers 20 ticket. According to the North Carolina Education lottery he beat odds of 1  in 3.23 million. The game just came into play October 3. Garcia purchased his winning purple lottery ticket at Quickway Superette on Norwood Street Southwest in Lenoir.

Thomas Garcia reportedly took the lump sum after the taxes and fees.  I do not blame him one bit.  That means he walks away with $855,000 dollars in his pocket.  We are not sure what Thomas will do with his money.  That is between him and his wallet right now.  We imagine it will go something like, pay off mortgage, help out his family and retire!  Maybe that’s just me but it is a fine idea.

There are still some pretty purple scratch off tickets available for big money. Three Power20s game tickets are still out there with a a big money payoff. Two million dollar prizes are still out there as well as eight $100,000 dollar prizes.  To learn more get details here from archyde.com.

The US has had a handful of record-setting lottery jackpots this year, and Americans are looking to get in on the action. A new report shows nearly a quarter of Americans play the lottery at least once a month, and almost half (44%) say they play more when there’s a big jackpot on the line.

Those who do strike it rich often try to keep the winnings quiet. 83% of Americans say they wouldn’t want to tell others if they won. Significant others are in luck though – people say they’d give their SO a little more than 25%, but also said they’d expect more than 25% if the roles were reversed.
