Familiar North Carolina City Named A Top 20 Place To Raise A Family In America
As the year of 2023 wraps up, we take time to reflect on some of the highlights. And, one such highlight came as Niche named this familiar North Carolina city a top place to raise a family in America. Niche.com compiled the list based on crime, quality of schools, cost of living and stuff to do.
So, why was this familiar North Carolina city named a top place to raise a family in America? Well, some of you might not be surprised that our pals in Raleigh, North Carolina came in at number 18 on the list. The capital city’s ‘overall Niche grade’ was an A+. And, Raleigh scored an A for its public schools. Also, Raleigh made a high score of A when it comes to the ‘family’ category.
Niche supplied more than 1300 reviews in the study. Of those, 451 rate the city as ‘excellent.’ And, one such current resident of the top city to raise a family commented in part, “I love the diversity you see in Raleigh! There’s so many amazing restaurants and shopping areas that offer me so many fun experiences.” However, it’s not all rosy for Raleigh. When it came to crime and safety for the city they dropped to a C grade. And, that has me scratching my head just a little as to how that factors in to making it a top city for raising families.
Anyway, apparently the other factors cancel that one bad rating out to a degree. The study points out that the population is approaching 500,000. And, it has an urban suburban mix with most residents owning their homes. Also, the area has many young families and professionals. Plus, the schools get high ratings. And, the median household income falls around $73,000.
So, if you plan on moving, give Raleigh another look. And, check out the full report from Niche.com to see all the rankings of the best cities to raise a family in America. And, see exactly why Niche picked this North Carolina city named as a top place to raise a family.
