Robots In Charlotte Are A Wave Of The Future
It’s the stuff those sci-fi movies warned us about. And now, robots in Charlotte are becoming something you’ll see more and more of.
More About Robots In Charlotte
According to QCNews, RobotLab opened its latest franchise in Charlotte recently. The nationwide company based in the San Francisco Bay area has robots for everything from agricultural services to cleaning, food delivery and more.
So, expect to see more robots in Charlotte as you go about your daily activities. In fact, CEO Elad Inbar said, “As more and more robots became more and more capable, we added more and more products to our portfolio to the point that today we are the largest robotics company out there.”
RobotLab is located at 1204 Queen St. And, their website says the Queen City was a good fit due to its Southern charm and metropolitan sophistication.
And, I know if you’re anything like most of us you might be concerned about this idea. After all, if robots are doing the jobs, what happens to the people who used to do those jobs?
Of course, RobotLab says that’s not their goal. Even though a study in 2022 indicated around 14% of workers lost jobs to robots, the company hopes to help business owners with the things humans no longer want to do.
For example, robots in Charlotte restaurants might bring the food or the bill while the human servers can use that time to better serve other customers. I hope that’s the case.
Our Experience With Robots In Charlotte
And, we actually saw it ‘in the flesh’ so to speak at a restaurant in Waxhaw, North Carolina. The human took our order and refilled our drinks. But, the robot delivered our food. However, the human still took the plates off the robot tray and set them before us on the table.

That’s good in theory, I guess, as long as these bots know their boundaries! But, just like anything else, including AI, we need to be careful we don’t render ourselves extinct in the workplace.
And, that’s a concern for all of us, including workers who create just about anything. Trust me, we hear whisperings from execs in our broadcast industry about using AI. It’s ironic how the jobs the execs consider replacing are always the workers not the folks who sit behind the desks.
But, if the robots truly enhance our lives rather than diminish our usefulness in the workplace, no problem. And, there’s always going to be another advancement in technology threatening to replace us. We’ll learn to pivot, we always do!
