North Carolina Hotel Named Among the Most Haunted in America
Sure you can go to one of the numerous (and certainly not bad) haunted houses in North Carolina. this spooky season. But why go to a haunted house with scare actors when you could go to a North Carolina haunted hotel with real paranormal activity?
With Halloween just around the corner, our friends at AirportParkingReservations.com created a list of the 13 most haunted hotels in the US. And a North Carolina haunted hotel has been named one of the most haunted in America.
North Carolina Haunted Hotel
These 13 haunted hotels in the US are steep in ghostly encounters and eerie histories. So which North Carolina haunted hotel made the list? (And yes there are multiple). It’s the Carolina Inn in Chapel HIll. AirportParkingReservations.com describes the Carolina Inn as “perfect for thrill-seekers and paranormal enthusiasts planning a spine-chilling Halloween getaway”.
They say it’s known for “playful spirits, including a ghost who locks guests out of rooms and another who checks for unlocked doors”. The North Carolina Haunted Hotel the Carolina Inn ranked 5th in this study.
Ranking first was Hotel Provincial in New Orleans. (This is now on my bucket list). Other notable ones that I’ve actually visited include the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado (where Stephen King wrote The Shining), The RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach, CA, and the Hotel del Coronado in Coronado, CA.
While the Carolina Inn may be the eeriest North Carolina haunted hotel, it’s not the only one. Perhaps you’ve stayed at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville? Yep, haunted. I also recently stayed in Charleston, SC at the Embassy Suites which was once a state arsenal and part of the Citadel Military College. It’s also known as one of the most haunted spots in a city full of paranormal activity.
