KYIV, UKRAINE - FEBRUARY 22: People sing the Ukrainian national anthem during a protest outside the Russian Embassy on February 22, 2022 in Kyiv, Ukraine. After Russian forces concluded large-scale military exercises in Belarus amid a tense diplomatic standoff between Russia and Ukraine's Western allies, Russian President Vladimir Putin in a nation wide televised statement, recognized the independence of two breakaway regions in Eastern Ukraine and has since sent Russian "peacekeepers" to the area raising fears of a full-scale invasion. The horrible tragedy of Russia invading Ukraine has been both horrifying and inspiring.  The Draconian actions of Russian President, Vladmir Putin are deplorable.  However, the actions and response of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the citizens of Ukraine are among the most admirable I’ve seen.  I read a story last weekend of a man in his 80s, showing up with a change of underwear, his toothbrush, and two sandwiches-ready to fight for his country.  In fact, the stories of Ukrainians of all shapes and sizes taking up arms in defense of their country are moving.  The love and patriotism being put on display, well, it’s amazing.  Just a couple of examples.  Check out this dude just casually removing a landmine-barehanded-dangling a heater out of his mouth.

Then, there’s THIS dude.  A farmer.  Just casually stealing a Russian tank.

These two almost seem like something out of a movie.  That being said, I hope the country of Ukraine gets a Hollywood ending and is able to return to a life of peace.  I don’t hold out hope.  Putin’s a madman.  However, that won’t stop us from cheering on and praying for these brave souls.
