ZAHONY, HUNGARY - MARCH 03: A refugee girl carries a sibling after arriving at the Hungarian border town of Zahony on a train that has come from Ukraine on March 03, 2022 in Zahony, Hungary. Refugees from Ukraine have fled into neighbouring countries such as Hungary, forming long queues at border crossings, after Russia began a large-scale attack on Ukraine on February 24, 2022. We haven’t had much to say about the crisis in the Ukraine.  I think it’s for this simple reason:  it is so horrible and tragic beyond words that we can say nothing to give proper respect and perspective.  Every image, every video we see either infuriates us, inspires us, or breaks our hearts.  You can put this video in the last category.  Last weekend, this video emerged of a little Ukrainian girl in a refugee shelter who chose to put a smile on everyone’s face there by singing “Let it Go” from “Frozen.”

The beautiful innocence of children.  Amazing.  In fact, “Frozen’s” singer, Idina Menzel shared the video on her own Twitter account along with the words “We see you. We really, really see you.”  Well, this morning, there’s good news.  “Amelia” and her grandmother have made it safely out of Ukraine and into Poland after surviving 6 days in that bunker.
