A North Carolina Fast Food Restaurant Tried To Pay Workers With Food

Business Insider,  says a Hendersonville, North Carolina Chick-Fil-A is under fire for offering to pay people in sandwiches rather than money. The restaurant posted the following message online: “We are looking for volunteers for our new Drive Thru Express! Earn 5 free entrees per shift (1 hr) worked, Message us for details.”

A Chick-Fil-A spokesperson told Insider the company did not endorse the program and that the restaurant has decided to end it. “Most restaurants are individually owned and operated, and it was a program at an individually owned restaurant.”

They have since removed the job listing.

One angry person tweeted: “The national median monthly rent price is $2,000, or 466 Chick-fil-A sandwiches”

Everyone can agree that fried chicken is the meal of meals. Crispy, tender, fried chicken is something I can enjoy any day of the week for any meal—honestly, chicken and waffles in the morning and chicken and fries at night. Ever argued about who has the best fried chicken? There is always an argument about Zaxby’s vs. Raising Canes or KFC and Popeye’s. So many places offer some of our favorite fast-food fried chicken and lucky for us there has been a fried chicken war.

Thanks to researchers with Top Data, the ultimate fried chicken was to determine who has the best fast food fried chicken is here. Researchers took GPA data from seven of the top fast-food fried chicken restaurants to determine the top for each state and the overall winner for the country. Restaurants included:

  • Chick-Fil-A
  • Zaxby’s
  • Raising Cane’s
  • KFC
  • Bojangles
  • Church’s
  • Popeye’s

Another factor to keep in mind is that not every chain is located in every state. But for those that are popular, the results may differ. Coming in at the #1 spot as the most popular restaurant is Chick-Fil-A with 22 states ranking them as their top. In second place, KFC took the top spot for 12 states favorite fast food fried chicken. Were you expecting that? I surely was not. But, what might shock you even more are the results from individual states. Check out Top Data’s list of top fried chicken fast food spots in each state.
