Video Shows Chinese Surveillance Balloon Flying Over North Carolina
It’s here or has certainly been here. Video shows Chinese surveillance balloon flying over Charlotte, North Carolina. It happened around 10 am Saturday morning. Several people captured the confirmed image. Channel 9 says it was spotted in the airspace very near the television station. We have also spotted it above our house in York County, South Carolina.
The Chinese balloon that is being tracked across the country indicates the balloon is flying in a south easterly direction. The balloon is flying around 50,000 feet in the air. Air Force General Pat Ryder says “We do know that the balloon has violated U.S. air and international laws”.
The Pentagon is calling the balloon a surveillance vessel but the Chinese government reportedly is calling it something completely different. They say it is a civilian airship and is being used to track the weather. They add it was blown off course. Hmmm.
So there is a very good chance that you could be seeing this thing up in the air Saturday or certainly over the weekend. According to the Gastonia Police Department you should not call 911 or attempt to shoot it down.
ABC news says the current thinking is the government will wait to shoot the balloon down once it drifts over the ocean. To learn more and see the images of the balloon over Charlotte get details from Channel 9 right here.
