Student At A South Carolina University Prepares To Open New York Pizzeria In Nearby Beach Area
Typically, we think of starting a new job or business once we graduate high school or college. However, a student at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina prepares to open a new pizza restaurant in nearby Murrells Inlet. And, his anticipated graduation date isn’t until 2026.
According to WBTW, Coastal Carolina student Tony Nakis already co-owns Mulberry Street New York Pizzeria. And, he grew up around the business working alongside his father. But, this is the first time the student will have a restaurant of his own.
Of course, the menu promises all the expected favorite items including pizzas and pasta. And, he plans the spot to offer options for delivery and drive through as well as dine-in. Also, doing some digging on Facebook post comments I see that future customers heartily welcome this young man’s dream.
Having a son attending Coastal Carolina University, I know that there are quite a few students and families relocating to the beach from the northeast. And, I always hear them say how they miss true New York pizza. So, the comments on the post about the Coastal student opening his own New York pizzeria have been met with positivity. Many ask what type of water he plans to use. Apparently, that matters a great deal. And, he responded indicating a “springwell CF system which brings the water down to a virtual 0 PH.” So, sounds like he’s thought of everything.
And, comments point out Tony plans to post a menu soon and open next week. Best of luck to this young man on making his dream a reality. And, I will definitely check it out when I visit the beach again! And, check here for more on the story.
