‘Charlotte’s Best’ Nominations Are In And Here’s How You Can Help Pick The Winners
Once again, The Charlotte Observer presents “Charlotte’s Best.” It’s a chance for all of us to chime in on what makes Charlotte great. Charlotte’s Best nominations are in. And, they include just about every category you might imagine. There’s food and drink to health and beauty, shopping, things to do and so much more. Voting opened this week and remains open until August 4 for you to decide the winners.
The Eat & Drink Category
Furthermore, some categories even have subcategories. For instance, “Eat & Drink” includes subcategories for bars and taverns, BBQ, all around restaurant, breakfast, food trucks and tons more options. In fact, there are more than 50! So, there’s sure to be some of your favorites on the list of nominees.
BBQ
Of course, I checked out the food category to see what’s included! More specifically, I checked on BBQ. And, yes, some of my go to spots are nominated including The Improper Pig, Jim ‘N’ Nick’s and McKoy’s Smokehouse and Saloon. I’ll definitely make my voice heard in that category.
Bakeries
And, I have a sweet tooth. So, I checked on the bakery category. I found plenty of favorites there, too, including Insomnia Cookies, Amelie’s French Bakery & Cafe and Nothing Bundt Cakes. But, see for yourself since there’s more than 2 dozen choices!
Pizza
Plus, I had to check on the pizza category. There’s plenty of fantastic options. But, the one jumping out at me is a total fave Bisonte Pizza Co. It’s hard to choose “the best” pizza because I love so many. I’m willing to try them all to find the winner!
How To Vote
The sheer volume of choices in all categories of “Charlotte’s Best” nominations is almost overwhelming. Charlotte really has a lot to choose from when it comes to shopping, wellness, spas and more. So, make sure you visit the site and cast your vote! Charlotte’s Best announces winners October 29.
15 Best Date Night Restaurants In And Around Charlotte North Carolina
Although Valentine’s Day is coming up, you don’t need a special holiday to have a special date night out. Charlotte and the surrounding areas of the city are home to some amazing spots to dine. Food is my passion, and I seek out fun, cool places to try. So, I decided to do some digging and put together a list of 15 best date night restaurants in and around the Charlotte North Carolina area. Now, these are by no means a complete list of everything you might love about dining out in Charlotte. I could make that list for days! But, this is a quick reference of tried and tested spots I think you will enjoy. I combed through suggestions from Yelp that immediately popped up with great reviews. And, I pulled spots from that list that I have personally tried and loved. Plus, I added a couple my 21 year old son and his friends give the stamp of approval. I tried to make sure there was variety. And, by variety, I mean both in cuisine and atmosphere. Some on the list are typical upscale fancy date night restaurants. And, others are more casual with an upbeat social vibe. After all, date nights don’t have to be super expensive. Sometimes, it’s more about feeling comfortable and getting to know each other. So, whatever you choose, I hope this list of 15 best date night restaurants in and around Charlotte, North Carolina helps guide you. These are in no particular order.
