This City Has The Cheapest Groceries In North Carolina
I know from personal experience the pain of rising grocery costs these days. But, there is some good news for a few spots in the country. And, this North Carolina town has some of the cheapest groceries in the nation. So, yes, it is possible to find cheap groceries in North Carolina according to the latest data from WalletHub.
And, to end the suspense it’s none other than Fayetteville where we find some of the cheapest groceries in North Carolina and the nation for that matter. This finding is actually a study within a study from WalletHub. The site analyzed “Best Foodie Cities in America” for 2023. And, as you might guess there are plenty of North and South Carolina cities ranking on that list. Some of those include Charlotte, Raleigh, and Charleston.
But, while most of those cities scored higher on the overall Foodie List, Fayetteville is the one with some of the best grocery deals. To compile the Best Foodie Cities in America list, WalletHub looked at “foodie friendliness” when it came to things like affordability and accessibility of high-quality restaurants to food festivals per capita. And, the site examined which cities basically offered bang for buck when it comes to foodies looking to cook at home. In studying the cheapest food areas they compared 180+ U.S. cities in 28 factors.
So, in looking at their “cost of groceries” analysis, WalletHub deemed the North Carolina city of Fayetteville in the top 5 lowest grocery costs. In fact, Fayetteville was the only city outside of Texas to crack the top five for savings. And for once, this is a time when you want to appear on a list of “lows.”
