We Tackled Mama Kelce’s Famous Chocolate Chip Cookies And Here’s How It Went
Ok, I am a sucker for a delicious cookie. And, there’s nothing better than a warm, chewy traditional chocolate chip cookie. So, you may have heard about Mama Kelce’s Chocolate Chip Cookies. She’s the most famous mom of the moment and her legendary cookie recipe has gone viral. Well, I decided to tackle it to add to my big game day table of snacks. And, here’s what happened when we tried Mama Kelce’s chocolate chip cookie recipe.
So, the sweet mom of football brothers Travis and Jason Kelce has exploded on social media lately. Donna Kelce is charming, down to earth and very marketable right now. She even has a collaboration with ZipLoc as ‘Chief Leftover Officer.’ Mama Kelce is all over the media as she sits next to Taylor Swift at games. And, she’s a big deal on TikTok, where scores of followers make her famous cookies and share the love.
The first thing I noticed about the recipe when I decided to try Mama Kelce’s chocolate chip cookies is the use of melted butter. Most bakers typically start with softened butter rather than melted. Next, I noticed the addition of cake flour along with all purpose flour. And, Mama Kelce uses the very specific Ghiradelli brand of both milk and white chocolate chips in her recipe. And, there’s a bit of cinnamon, too! No wonder people love them.
Apparently, she shows up with them everywhere she goes. And, it’s even prompted Travis to jokingly post along the lines of ‘you don’t have to bring cookies everywhere you go, Mom.’ That’s a typical mom thing to do. And, his response is a typical son response. LOL.
Well, the moment of truth is about to come to be. Let’s get started and see what happens when we tackle the famous Mama Kelce’s chocolate chip cookies! And, see the link for the full recipe and directions.
So, here’s the verdict after baking these delightful cookies. First of all, they were very flavorful and buttery with some fluff to them and a crispy bottom and edge. However, they are a lot of work. So, just understand that going into the process. And, I advise against bringing the dough to room temp after the chilling process. I did a batch with the dough slightly warmer, and they spread into almost one giant cookie on the tray! But, I was able to salvage and enjoy them just the same. For the batch you see in the picture, I let them sit for about 10 minutes outside the fridge. They baked for 10 minutes. And, that worked out just fine. Also, the recipe makes a ton of them depending on the size of your scoop!
