Leap Year Deals To Celebrate That Extra Day In North And South Carolina

Ah, it’s that magical day that comes around once every four years.  Leap Day is on the way February 29.  So, why do we have this event?  In a nutshell, the extra day keeps the calendar synchronized with the astronomical year, which happens to be approximately 365.2422 days.  Of course, the calendar is a mere 365 days during non leap years.  And, we have to observe the event in a special way, right? So, here are some Leap Year deals to celebrate the extra day in North and South Carolina.

First of all, many of the businesses that typically participate in Leap Year deals haven’t confirmed just yet.  But, if history is any predictor, we can speculate.  And, a good number just rolled out their plans.  So, we’ll point you to some places to start saving and celebrating this Leap Year.  Plus, there’s special opportunities for the “leaplings” or “leapers.”  Those are folks actually born on February 29.

According to thekrazycouponlady.com, there are deals to be found including everything from doughnuts to pizza to cookies and more.  So, let’s get started looking at Leap Year deals to celebrate that extra day this year.

Build-A-Bear Workshop Leap Year Deals

This is one that applies only to those “leaplings” we spoke of previously.  If you indeed have a February 29th birthday, visit a Build-A-Bear Workshop for a Birthday Treat Bear for just $4.  ID is required for the deal.  See the store website for details and restrictions.  And, continue to check their socials for news concerning the deal.  The workshops are usually in malls.  And, South Park Mall in Charlotte has one as well as Carolina Place Mall and Concord Mills.

Great Wolf Lodge

America’s favorite hotel/water park typically offers a $29 per person deal for the February 29th celebration only.  The offer is valid for a stay between the 29th and June 13, 2024.  See their website for all the info and restrictions.  And follow their socials for updates on the deal.  Great Wolf Lodge has a location in Concord, North Carolina near the speedway.  Plus, there’s so much to see and do around the lodge location.

Insomnia Cookies Leap Year Deals

One of our favorite late night warm cookie delivery spots gets in on the Leap Year deals.  Leaplings, those born on the 29th, grab your ID and visit Insomnia Cookies.  You guys can get four free classic cookies (one for every birthday year you missed) and a birthday party in-store for free with birthday decor and party hats.  Check on all the restrictions and details.  But, as far as locations in the Carolinas, there’s one on Hawkins Street and also Trade, Tryon and Central Ave. in Charlotte.  And, there’s a couple in the Myrtle Beach and Conway, South Carolina area.  One is at Broadway at the Beach.  The other is near Coastal Carolina University on Graduate Rd.  See the website for all locations near you.  And, continue to check their socials for news concerning the deal.

Chipotle

Chipotle will mark the day with ‘extra day, extra codes.’  There’s a virtual scavenger hunt running the days leading up to the 29th with winners scoring free guacamole for the year.  And, rewards members can use the code EXTRA24 at checkout on the app or online and receive free guacamole.

Papa Murphy’s

Customers take 29% off when spending $20 with the code LEAP24.  It’s valid for online orders on February 29, 2024.

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

All guests can get a dozen Original Glazed for just $2.29 with the purchase of any regularly priced dozen.  Furthermore, those who have a birthday on February 29th can visit a shop and receive a free original glazed dozen, no purchase necessary with proof of birthday required.

More Leap Year Deals To Come

The financial experts at Forbes recently conducted an analysis to determine the richest places in the state of North Carolina.  To do this they looked at over 400 cities aka census-designated places in NC. Cities were ranked on four metrics including median household income, mean household income, median home value, and median property taxes paid.

So which cities made the cut? There are several cities that are around a major lake. As well as some on the coast and the mountains in the top 5.
