Happy anniversary to a place that almost all beer drinking adults in the Queen City love. And this popular North Carolina brewery plans expansion. Olde Mecklenburg Brewery in Charlotte is celebrating fifteen years in business. Customers were lined up to join in on the celebration.
Fifteen years is quite an accomplishment for a brewery. It seems there is one on every corner now. But there is something special about this Southend establishment. In honor of their anniversary, they even revealed a special 15th anniversary beer. Jim Birch, COO of Old Meck Brewery tells wsoctv.com “This is a neat opportunity for us to celebrate 15 years, We have our Ballantyne location opening next month. And it’s the perfect weekend with the Easter holiday tomorrow too.”

There’s good news for people on the outskirts of Charlotte. This popular North Carolina brewery plans expansion. Two more Olde Mecklenburg Breweries will be opening soon. Along with the Ballantyne location, a brewery is planned for Mount Holly and Cornelius as well. Not only does Olde Mecklenburg Brewery have great beer. They are also famous for the great vibes. And sometimes it’s that something extra that makes a place that people want to go to after work or to meet up with friends on the weekend.
Just How Much Do North Carolinians Love That Beer?
So just how many people in North Carolina love beer? The short answer is a lot. As a matter of fact, Asheville, North Carolina has ranked as the top beer consuming city in the whole country. North Carolina ranks as the 10th most beer drinking state in the country. No wonder there are so many breweries popping up. And it makes sense that Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is planning to expand.
