High School Football Player Makes Most Amazing Interception EVER
Charles Dickens’ A Tale of Two Cities famously opens up with the phrase, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” I guess this was never a truer statement than to describe the current situation for one Adrian Walker Jr. Let’s start with the “worst of times.” On Sunday night, Walker and his Belleville High School teammates fell short in the Michigan Division 1 State Championship Game. Southfield A&T prevailed 36-32. This also ended Belleville’s 38-game winning streak (that included back-to-back state titles).
I know, seems pretty devasting right? Okay, okay, I’m getting to “the best of times.” During that game, Adrian Walker Jr. made what has to be considered one, if not THE greatest interception I’ve ever seen in all my years of watching football. In the first quarter, with Belleville trailing 6-0, Walker deflects a pass from A&T quarterback Isaiah Marshall. And by deflects, I mean tips the ball to himself and he completes the interception behind-the-back.
It is a WTH moment that you’ve got to see to believe. And an interception that has made Adrian Walker Jr., even in defeat, virally triumphant.
