Gen Z Slang Banned In This Classroom
This teacher has had it. Gen Z slang banned in this classroom. Funny thing is, she announced it on TikTok and it has gone viral with 2.5 million views. That’s so sigma. Did I use that term correctly?
Gen Z Slang Banned In This Classroom
I must admit, I had to go down the hall and find some “zoomers” to make sure the Gen Z slang wasn’t bad words. I am a couple of letters away from that generation. A Florida science teacher recently banned words like “aura” and “pookie” according to the New York Post. Oh, and the gen slang “womp womp” also banned.
But Why Change The Way They Want To Communicate?
Angela Santale reportedly wants the kids in her classroom to speak more formally and respectfully. She made her intentions known on TikTok, cause that’s where the kids are. And her banned words have gone viral with 2.5 million views.
Other Educators Are Praising Her Decision
Angela tells the post “What prompted me to created the list of banned words was the constant repetition I heard from students in the class. We’d be lining up for lunch and I would hear students say “you’re so skibidi or ‘that’s so sigma’. I don’t get how those terms fit into regular conversation”.
People are praising the teacher for setting boundaries and teaching respect. Angela says “this generation has to learn to be respectful and take things seriously”.
