Essentials for Your Disaster Kit
I know the last thing you want to do is battle the crowds at your grocery store, but better safe than sorry. Don’t risk it!
1) Water, at least three gallons per person
2) a three-day supply of non-perishable food
3) a flashlight
4) a portable radio to listen for update
5) extra batteries for both
6) a first aid kit
7) a whistle in case you need to signal for help
8) sanitation supplies, like garbage bags and moist towelettes
9) a manual can opener
10) at least one map of the area, in case your GPS goes out
11) an extra battery for your phone
12) food and water for your pets
13) matches or a lighter
14) cash
***Make sure your prescription meds are filled!
It’s also not a bad idea to freeze zip lock bags of water to help keep your perishables cold in case the power goes out.
Have dogs? Buy some puppy pads just in case they can’t go outside to potty!
