Stay Safe, DUI Fatalities Jump 57% Over July 4th Weekend
Wow.
According to ValuePenguin.com analysis, the weekend of July 4th is the deadliest weekend for DUI fatalities. After surveying eight years of DUI fatality data, the company found the 4th of July to be the deadliest holiday for drunk driving deaths. From 2010 to 2017, there were 1,192 deaths attributed to DUI accidents.
Results showed this was 87 more fatalities than the number of deaths that occurred on Memorial Day weekend for this time period.
And if this wasn’t shocking enough, ValuePenguin.com analysis found that in 2017, DUI fatalities were 57% more likely during the Fourth of July holiday compared to a similar summer day. Please drive safely and responsibly. You can see more on the research here.
