Another reason to love Scotty as if we need one. He and I share a passion for some incredible people. It was one year ago today that the “Damn Strait” singer took a dip in his very chilly backyard pool near Raleigh to benefit Special Olympics.
My cousin Jonathan spent many years competing in Special Olympics. Jonathan has Down Syndrome and being a part of this event each year did so much for his spirit. It was more than just getting together with his peers and having fun. It made him feel accomplished and proud.
Scotty’s plunge raised more than $2,600 for Special Olympics.
