Video: Officers Wrangle Loose Emu That Traveled 30 Miles To Lenoir
My favorite television commercial is the one with the Emu and Doug. When it comes on, I actually watch it, it cracks me up. Sometimes, Emus can get down the road far from home and it happened recently to a female Emu named Kevin.
Kevin somehow got out of her enclosure and traveled from Moravian Falls to Lenoir North Carolina. She traveled some 30 miles before she got tired and found a place to rest. This is where animal control came in and was actually able to put a leash around her neck and give her some food.
Kudos to the Caldwell County Animal Care and Control for resolving this incident safely and effectively. Kevin is now back at home where she belongs. To read all about it just check out the story from WSOCTV.
