Believe It Or Not Kool Aid Can Clean Your Dishwasher
Just when you think you’ve heard it all, this comes along. First, my background and bias. As a child of the 1970s and 1980s, here is what I always picture in my head when I hear “Kool Aid.”
Kids yelling, “Hey Kool Aid!” and a big pitcher costume busting through a wall saying, “Oh yeah.” Okay, so now that you get where I’m coming from, you can understand what bizarre images enter my brain when I see “Kool Aid Can Clean Your Dishwasher.” Anyway, apparently this is true. House Digest has signed off on this cleaning hack that has TikTok buzzing. Simply place Kool Aid’s unsweetened lemonade in your dishwasher’s soap dispenser and run a cycle (no dishes in the machine, of course). The acidity in the lemonade makes debris, leftover food, mildew, grease, and limescale mere memories.
Now, I don’t claim to be a dishwasher expert, but wouldn’t it be just as simple to put a specific cleansing powder in the dishwasher dispenser and run a cycle? Seems to me that this a colossal waste of a good pack of lemonade. <g>
