This North Carolina Zoo Is Experiencing An Adorable Baby Boom
The folks at the Western North Carolina Nature Center in Asheville say they are experiencing a baby bonanza. So if you’re planning a fall trip to the mountains, it’s a good time to see baby bobcats, wolves and more. This North Carolina zoo is experiencing an adorable baby boom.
The WNC Nature Center touts itself as “more than just a zoo” and is geared toward visitors of all ages. There are currently 60 species of wildlife on display, all native to the Southern Appalachians.
“There’s no other habitat like the southern Appalachians anywhere in the world so the ability for us to represent this to people is what we can do best,” WNC Nature Center spokesman Chris Gentile told Spectrum News.
According to the Center’s website, there are currently red wolf puppies, coyote puppies, bobcat kittens and raccoon kits on site. WNC Nature Center also houses river otters, mountain lions and other amazing animals. Get an even closer look with educational programs offered throughout the day. The WNC Nature Center is open 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. every day except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Admission costs vary by age. See WNC Nature Center website for details.
