According to NASCAR.com, Stenhouse’s “hopes of winning his first All-Star race ended on the race’s 2nd lap at North Wilkesboro Speedway”. And he wasn’t happy. According to wsoctv.com, the driver was trying to make a three wide pass between Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin at the beginning of the race. Busch in return makes contact with Stenhouse’s #47 Chevy. And that sent it in a wall.
And Things Got Hot
Now at this point, Stenhouse appears hopping mad according to onlookers. He reportedly pulled his car down pit road and parked at Busch’s stall. According to the Associated Press he climbs a ladder at this point and yell’s at Busch’s crew. Stenhouse tells Fox Sports, “Short race, you’re trying to get all you can get. We passed him and I guess he was mad. So I parked my car in the pit box, I figured he would do something like that, so maybe Richard (Childress) will hold my watch after the race.”
Words and paint were not the only things exchanged. The real fireworks happened after the race. Stenhouse confronts Busch in the garage area. Words went back and forth and then appears as though Stenhouse through the first punch.
