Florida Man Attacked By Rabid Otter While Feeding Birds

Normally when we see pictures of otters, its adorable. The picture usually captures the little animal floating on its back or doing something else super cute. Not this time. A Florida man was attacked by a rabid otter while feeding birds in a pond.
The 74 year old man was attacked by the critter in Jupiter, Florida, This is how the story unfolds. The elderly man told Animal Care and Control that he was feeding corn to ducks at a pond when he was approached by what he thought was a friendly woodland creature. But there were no cute selfies taken here.
The animal attacked the man for several minutes leaving him very injured. He reportedly had dozens of wounds on his legs and arms . According to USA Today the man was bitten 41 times. The senior citizen is getting shots for rabies exposure. He is reportedly seeing a surgeon to assess any potential permanent damage.
The otter also attacked a nearby dog and was later captured. He tested positive for rabies. Nature is metal y’all. Be careful when mixing and mingling with wildlife.
