South Carolina Fisherman’s Message In A Bottle Found In Europe
A South Carolina fisherman’s message in a bottle found in Europe. The fisherman’s name is Shane Bashor and he dropped the bottle in the ocean three years ago from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. You will never believe where it ended up.
Shane is the owner and operator of Side Kick Charters In Murrell’s Inlet. He was working on a boat a few years ago when a woman approached him with a very special request. Bashor said the woman lost her daughter to a fentanyl overdose almost five years ago. She put a letter in a bottle as well as purple ribbons for overdose awareness.
According to our source, Fox 59, he waited a few months before dropping the bottle off the coast of Myrtle Beach. He wanted to go out far enough so that the bottle would have a good chance to travel and travel it did. Three years later the fisherman gets this text from the bereaved mother, “I don’t know if you remember me or not, but I gave you this bottle for my daughter three years ago when we were in Myrtle Beach, and I got an email back from these two ladies that found it”. This South Carolina fisherman’s message in a bottle found in Europe. Wow. Cold Chills.
The bottle made it all the way to France intact and unbroken. Bashor said it’s amazing that a cargo ship or a rock didn’t crack the bottle along the way. He tells the television station, “Although it’s sort of a sad story, it still makes me happy, and it feels as if it’s got a happy conclusion or ending to it”. The South Carolina fisherman’s message in a bottle found in Europe.
From what we understand the bottle was returned to the sea. So who knows where it will turn up next. The mother is now the author and founder of the Forgotten Victims of North Carolina. That organization is dedicated to helping families who have lost a loved one to drug overdoses. For more information check out the story right here.
