This North Carolina bank warns employees to get back to work or else. Where I work in Charlotte, I feel like most of our remote employees were given a similar ultimatum. Great to see everyone’s bright shiny faces again.
Bank of America reportedly sent a return to work notice back in 2022. According to our source, Channel 9, the notification was for employees to come back in for at least three days a week. The Charlotte Business Journal reports since then, some employees have not complied.
So, what happens now? According to Channel 9, “The bank recently sent out warning letters to employees who have not come back to work in the building. Bank officials said if employees don’t comply within two weeks of being notified, they could face further disciplinary action.” This North Carolina bank warns employees to get back to work or else.
In our profession as broadcasters, many people did indeed do their shows from home. We opted out of that. Personally I need to be with my co hosts in person to keep the chemistry going. We did not miss a day in studio. We used strict protocols though. We masked in the halls and stayed apart. Luckily none of us got sick at that time.
