McDonald’s Plans To Change Their Prices
According to Eat This Not That, McDonald’s currently has plans to change their menu prices…eventually. This announcement was made due to a lot of social media outrage over the prices.
Recently, a post was made to Twitter that showed McDonalds is charging $14.58 for two Egg McMuffins. Unsurprisingly the post went viral and has almost two million views. The comment section is filled with angry customers who are shocked and appalled that just two Egg McMuffins would cost so much. This isn’t the only time something like this has gone viral. Over the past few years multiple post about how insanely expensive McDonalds is have gone viral.
Due to all of this outrage, McDonald’s has stated that their price increases are likely to slow down soon. McDonald’s has stated that inflation is dropping this year and with it their prices.
Ian Borden is McDonald’s executive vice president and CFO. He stated that “inflation has come down a fair bit from its peak,” and that he expects McDonalds pricing will also begin to drop throughout the year.
Borden also says that McDonalds prices increased by a whopping 10% just in 2023. He says that McDonald’s knows that their customers are becoming weary about these price increases and that the chain will keep these concerns in mind when making future pricing choices.
If McDonalds does follow through with these plans, more family’s will be able to afford the fast meals without burning a hole in their pockets.
