Here are the best pizza joints now open in North Carolina and South Carolina. Just doing the research on this story made my mouth water. It also immediately makes me think of my personal favorite pizza joint.  I will share that with you in just a bit. I'm no expert but I am a lifelong lover of a meaty cheesy pizza pie.

The food experts at Love Food have scoured the nation. And they left no pepperoni un turned. From New York's foldable slices to puffy Neapolitan pizza with simple toppings. I don't know about you but I would love to be in their research department.  They looked for the best pizza in the take out joints and the fancy places. They scoured the reviews from the hole in the wall places and anywhere that slings the most perfect pizza in North Carolina and South Carolina and across the country.

Now what did they find.  If you live in the Charlotte area, you are in luck. Love Food says the best pizza joint now open in North Carolina is, Inizio Pizza in Charlotte, Huntersville and Fort Mill. Here's what Love Food has to say about Inizio Pizza, " Inizio serves traditional red sauce pizzas, including the Diavola with spicy salami, Calabrian peppers, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and pecorino, as well as a list of specials such as the Pistachio, with rosemary, sea salt, ricotta, mozzarella, garlic, and pistachio pesto. You can also order salads, cannoli, and ice cream." Yes Please!

In South Carolina, head to North Charleston for EVO Pizzeria. They are known for their custom made wood fried pizza. So if you like to have your pizza exactly the way you like it. Another direct quote from Love Food about this pizza joint now open in South Carolina. " There's a menu filled with tempting options, which also includes regularly changing specials, but you can also design your own pie by choosing a base (options include red sauce, basil pesto, and tomato garlic cream) and toppings (including speck ham, roasted oyster mushrooms, and house ricotta). You can also choose to add dips like blue cheese or garlic aioli for extra sauciness."

Pizza not what you are craving? How about some seafood. We have you covered.

The Best Seafood In North Carolina According To One List, Isn’t On The Coast

When you think of top-tier fresh seafood, you usually think of the beach or at least somewhere near the coast. Especially in North Carolina the Calabash area is considered the pinnacle of seafood. So when I came across this list of the best seafood in every state, well I figured it would be in Calabash. If not there then somewhere else on the coast. Perhaps Wilmington or the Outer Banks? But nope. Not this list. It was created by a website called 24/7 Wall Street. They created a list of the best seafood in every state including North Carolina. So how exactly did they do this?

According to the article, they " consulted lists, ratings, and reviews from websites including Guide MichelinEat This Not ThatFood NetworkGayotEater, and Time Out, as well as numerous local and regional sites." What was considered a "seafood restaurant"? Well, sushi and "informal seafood shacks" were omitted from the list. The establishments included can be anything from fancy white tablecloth restaurants to casual restaurants. Some offer fried fish or shrimp, others have a range of flavors including Mexican, Portuguese, Chinese, or New American. They also mention that regional trends are represented- think Cajun crawfish, Maryland crabs, New England chowder, and Maine lobster.

Hungry yet? So if such emphasis is put on regional fresh seafood, and the best seafood in North Carolina isn't in Calabash or the coast at all, where is it? Keep reading to see the best seafood in NC as well as some of our neighbors. You can read the full 24/7 Wall Street list here. Do you disagree? Let me know! I'd love to know what your favorite is. Just don't shoot the messenger if you don't agree.
