Lainey Wilson: Did She Meet Miley Cyrus At The Grammys?
Lainey Wilson and Jelly Roll had the rare opportunity to get together in Nashville yesterday (2/22) and celebrate their successes.
I spoke with both of them at a Music Row bar. I asked Lainey if she met Miley Cyrus at the Grammys. Wilson worked as a Hannah Montanna impersonator at kid’s parties before she was famous.
Lainey told me, “I didn’t meet her officially. I was like, front row, for her performance. After I had won the GRAMMY, I was backstage for about an hour doing press, and I think we barely missed each other.”
She’s hopeful that they will meet face-to-face someday. She said, “We know a lot of the same people, and even when I was spending some time with Dolly Parton the other day, she was like, ‘You remind me so much of Miley.'”
Wilson concluded, “I know we are gonna cross paths at some point and time; It just wasn’t the right moment.”

Jelly Roll wants some of the Miley action as well. He told me, “Miley Cyrus is my dream feature; she’s from Tennessee, and I’m from Tennessee. You asked like you might know her; tell her I’m trying to get a hold of her. I’d love to be friends. If anybody wants to make the introduction, that’d be appreciated.”
In the same interview, Jelly also told me about seeing Kelly Clarkson cover “Save Me’ on The Kelly Clarkson Show on her “Kellyoke” segment. He ran into her at the GRAMMYS. He told me, “You know what’s fun, she told me that day that she did it, and I was elated. Man, she killed it, man. She was so good, and she was just so sweet anyways.”
Jelly added, “She’s one of those people that have thrown me bones that don’t know me, and that’s rare.”
