This South Carolina county is set to open it's first Vineyard. And we are here for it. The vineyard is in Lancaster County, South Carolina and is the first ever in the county.  According to the Charlotte Observer,  South Carolina once had a rich wine history and someone special is hoping to bring that back.

You will find the new venture at Laurel Haven Estate. And owner Jenna Bice will be adding a vineyard and winery soon. As a matter of fact this is all happening March 28. Hours of operation will be Thursdays to Sundays from 11a.m. to 7 p.m.. This summer you can expect it to be open every day.

This Vineyard Was Once A Teenage Dream

Jenna tells the Charlotte Observer she has wanted a vineyard since she was a teenager. She started dreaming the dream because when her family took a trip to California and visited a vineyard, she knew that was for her." I’ve always loved being outdoors, and I love farming and agriculture'.

She goes on to tell the Charlotte Observer.“But I also love the art side of wine making. Like with any (food) or beverage, there’s a lot of art to it. It kind of blended two things that I really love: agriculture and the... creative side of it. So from being 13 on, all I’ve ever wanted was a wine vineyard".

This place is sure to be the pride of Lancaster County. The 1500 grape vines span two acres. And Bice hopes to produce 10 tons of grapes this year alone. She is counting on adding another 10 acres to her vineyard. You can find Laurel Haven Estate at 3341 Taxhaw Road. The wedding venue aspect of the business is still going strong. And private events are available.

The grand opening for Saturday's event is sold out. This South Carolina county is set to open it's first vineyard. To learn more about it get details here from the Charlotte Observer.

List: The Best Wine In North Carolina And Every US State

If you love wine as much as I do you probably try to visit a winery on vacation. Napa Valley is probably the first wine destination that comes to mind, but every state has its options. But knowing where to find the best wine on vacation can be hard, especially if you're just a casual wine drinker. Well, you're in luck, the dating reviews website MyDatingAdvisor.com ranked the best wineries across the country.

But what makes a winery "the best". Obviously, to a degree it's opinion. Something that I love others might hate, as well as the reverse.
