The #1 best place to live in the Charlotte area is not in Charlotte.  Niche has released a report of the best places to live. The experts took a good hard look at the area. And based their findings on things like employment, crime, arts and culture, health care, and more.

#1 Best Place to Live in Charlotte

Look about 20 miles southwest of Charlotte and you will find Tega Cay. According to our source, wsoctv.com the annual ranking listed Tega Cay as the best place to live in the Charlotte metro area for 2024. And this isn’t the only honor bestowed on Tega Cay. Niche says the Lake Wylie community is also the best place to live in South Carolina.

#2 On The List Is Up North Of Town

For the second best place to live in the Charlotte area head north. Davidson, North Carolina is about 23 miles from Charlotte and ranks 2 on the local list. It’s good to see this area on the list. The old and monied area of Dilworth ranks 3rd.

The #1 best place to live in the Charlotte area is not in Charlotte. And all three in the top rankings are so different from each other. It’s clear the lakes in the area know how to have great communities as both towns at Lakes Norman and Wylie made the list. And Dilworth is just absolutely lovely and has been for a long time.

What is it that makes a truly great community? It’s the people of course. Oh it’s nice to have a lake nearby but it is really the people that make a great community. The best place to live in Charlotte is not in Charlotte. Congratulations to all the wonderful people who live in Tega Cay. What an honor.

North Carolina Town No. 2 Prettiest Coastal Town In The South

What beach isn’t pretty? There is something so beautiful about where the ocean meets the sand that keeps us flocking to the beach. But what are the prettiest Carolina beaches? That’s such a hard question as everyone has a favorite. But according to Southern Living Magazine 6 coastal Carolina towns are among the South’s prettiest.

But of course, if you’ve grown up here that should be nothing more than confirmation to you. Though I’ll go ahead and spoil it a little for you and let you know that none of the North Carolina towns are on the Outer Banks. I know you OBX people are passionate about your beaches. Sorry to admit I’ve never been!

Now is the perfect time to book that beach vacation. Whether you want to get a jump start on the summer plans or perhaps take your trip before it gets too crazy! The good news is that at least some of these 6 coastal towns are a little calmer than places like Myrtle Beach.

These towns are described by the publication as having “charming downtowns, excellent waterfront dining, gracious places to stay, and scenic vistas”. All things I certainly look for in a relaxing beach vacation.
