Tell Me Something Good! Pictures of a Napping Senior Citizen Helped Raise $40,000 for an Animal Shelter
Last Tuesday, Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary in Green Bay posted pictures of 75-year-old Terry Lauerman napping with the animals. As you can imagine, the photos went crazy viral and they raised $40,000 for the shelter in just four days!
Back in 2016, Terry started volunteering at Safe Haven. He’s in charge of hanging out with the cats and grooming them… and now he often naps with them on the comfy couches and chairs that are scattered around the open room shelter.
Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary posted on their Facebook page, “We are so lucky to have a human like Terry. Terry just came along one day and introduced himself. He said he’d like to brush cats. Eventually it became everyday. He brushes all of the cats, and can tell you about all of their likes and dislikes. He also accidentally falls asleep most days. We don’t mind – Cats need this! Terry is a wonderful volunteer. ????❤????#nappingencouraged #grateful”
