This trail runs alongside the city’s light rail system making it an accessible way to bars, restaurants, and cafés.
This trail is still in its expansion phase, but when it’s completed, it’ll span 20 miles extending just north of Uptown all the way down to the South Carolina state line.
U.S. National Whitewater Center

Right outside of the city center in Matthews, this beautiful out-and-back boardwalk trail stretches across Charlotte’s creeks and wetlands.
Just across the South Carolina border in Fort Mill, the Baxter Village Trail is known for its observation deck that overlooks the Catawba River. This trail is about three miles in length but part of a larger nine-mile network. The nine-miles also consists of shops and restaurants in case you prefer sales over the trails.
