A 6-year-old boy fell into Lake Hickory around 11:15 a.m yesterday.
A child from Hickory fell into Lake Hickory yesterday and thanks to a fast thinking carpenter is alive today!
Three men were remodeling a home on Swan Lane in the Wittenberg Community when they heard screaming. They thought it was an animal. But it wasn’t!
The men soon realized it was a young child screaming “help me.” One of the carpenters, Scott Lingerfelt, jumped in the water and swam out to the little boy.
The boy was taken to Catawba Valley Medical Center to be evaluated.
