It is no secret that I have been obsessed with Dolly Parton ever since I was a little girl. It probably all started when I was very very little and my parents would watch her on the “Porter Wagoner Show”. The only thing I remember about those Saturday nights was the little lady with the big hair that sang like an angel and giggled like a little girl.
We all paused to celebrate Dolly just a little here at the radio station yesterday. One of the things Dolly is famous for is her big wigs. She has never pretended that what we see is her natural hair. She says she got her signature look by admiring the “town tramp” growing up. She thought those big wigs and tons of makeup was a great look and she wanted to look just like that when she grew up. Dolly looks gorgeous, always .
On her 75th birthday she gave us a rare glimpse of her natural hair and I LOVE it. She was 19. And pretty as can be.
