Woman Who Thought Gastonia NC Was The Swiss Alps Makes National TV
This poor girl, I’m just gonna go ahead and say it, is not too bright. Her name is Olivia Garcia and I am sure she is bright in many other ways but she got duped into traveling to Gastonia to see the mountains but the photo she had seen was actually the Alps.
Now, you and I know, Gastonia truly is a lovely place. I called that townhome for many many years and you won’t hear me say a bad word about it BUT I can assure you there are no snow-capped mountains in Gastonia.
Here is what happened. Olivia reportedly watched a TikTok video that featured gorgeous snow-capped mountains and the caption said: “Gastonia, NC A True Gem”. Here is the problem, that picture was titled Gastonia but was taken off the Swiss Alps. The joke went viral, with those who live in NC getting the joke, but others not so much. Olivia was on a road trip to Boone at the time, where there really are beautiful mountains, and diverted to Gastonia expecting to see what she saw on the social media post.
