Biggest Bass Ever Caught In This Farm Pond In South Carolina
I have been fishing in this little farm pond in Clover, South Carolina for about six years now and finally caught the bass I have been going for. I believe it is the biggest bass ever caught in this farm pond, certainly the biggest one I have caught. And what a thrill it was.
As I have heard some people say, there is something pure and simple about farm pond fishing, especially if it is in your own backyard. My neighbors Dad built this pond about fifty years ago and it hasn’t been stocked since, at least as far as anyone knows. Fishing is always fun, we usually catch a few little bass and put them right back in. Yesterday, something special was on the line.
It was such a beautiful day so after I fed the horses I decided to grab my rod and reel and walk down to the pond behind my house. I didn’t even tell my husband. I thought I would just cast a few times and enjoy the peace and quiet. I didn’t even bother launching the little boat, I just fished off the bank. On about my fourth cast, something hit and hit hard. He gave me a fun little fight. To most people this might not look like a huge whopper. I imagine he weighs around 5 pounds . I took the hook out of his lip and tossed him back to catch another day.
